We are the Junior League of Kansas City, Missouri 

Founded in 1914, the Junior League of Kansas City, Missouri, cultivates leaders who collectively address the critical needs in our community.

By empowering women and providing valuable leadership training, we are giving local women the tools to get involved, put their talents to work, and positively impact our community.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Junior League of Kansas City, Missouri (JLKC) is an organization of women committed to the advancement of women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training.

OUR AFFILIATION

We are affiliated with the Association of Junior Leagues International as one of over 295 member Leagues in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and England.

Issue Areas

 

The League is committed to helping our community’s most under-resourced women and children in the five-county Kansas City Metro area through the issue and focus areas of:

ABUSE & NEGLECT – Supporting efforts to promote the physical and emotional well-being of families and providing resources to women and children in crisis.

CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT – Supporting efforts to promote the physical and mental well-being of children.

WOMEN’S SELF-SUSTAINABILITY – Supporting efforts that empower women with the skills, resources, and opportunities needed to achieve economic, social, and emotional independence.

Leadership

The Junior League of Kansas City, Missouri, is led by women volunteers, committed to giving back to their community. Our Board of Directors and Leaders hold positions for one year terms, focused on areas from community impact to operations and membership development.
